About the Founder

Have you ever wondered if something is legal? I recall waiting with my sister, when a woman got out of her car wearing Crocs. The sound of the plastic slapping the ground as she walked caught everyone's attention. I thought to myself "How can she drive in those? They'll cause an accident!". Curious minds had to know, and I spent the next 10 minutes typing in search engines "Is it legal to drive wearing crocs..."

Kira Arrow, law student and founder of "Is it legal?"

As it transpires I wasn't the only person asking these questions. Many people are typing their legal questions into search engines as they don't know what's legal and what's not. Who can blame them? The law is a complex subject with many nuances. I decided to set up this website packed with resources that answer the question "Is it legal?".

IsItLegal.co.uk isn't legal advice. Because people are looking for legal advice, I've created a list of places to get free legal advice. My goal is to help as many people as possible determine if they need legal advice as well as giving the space for fellow law students to start writing about the law. This has now grown into the popular Arrow Law Writing Experience!

About Kira Arrow

I'm a life-long student of Japanese Jujitsu. I'm currently an adult black belt. This is known as Shodan. I'm able to use Sai, Tonfa, Bokken, Bo and Nun-chucks to a high standard. I even legally own a Katana (full-size, traditional made Japanese sword). I compete at National and International levels, and I can proudly say I've competed as part of Team GB, for my country. I've won 30 medals, including 9 golds. My most recent medal is a silver in continuous fighting at the United Nations Congress in 2022. I'm currently training for my second dan black belt, and learning Judo at university.

I enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures. Since Covid-19 restrictions have lifted I've visited Greece, Malta, Portugal, Jersey (photo on the right), and Belgium. In 2023 I visited Turkiye, and in 2024 I'll be visiting Budapest (twice) and France. With the exception of competition travel, all my travel is self-funded and self-organised.

I co-own two kittens with my younger sister, Jasmine. Yes, we have a contract in place ;)

When I'm not studying law at the amazing Nottingham university, or training in Jujitsu, I teach younger children GCSE English.  I find it very rewarding to share knowledge, and the application of knowledge with others.
